Cryptorecovery Case Study: Crypto Asset Access Recovery Platform

Brief description

Web3 crypto asset insurance service against loss of wallet access.

Task

Build a platform where the user configures asset recovery in advance, and launch and execution follow protected DAO logic — so even if the user permanently loses access to the main wallet, they can still receive funds on a backup wallet.

About the project

Cryptorecovery is a crypto asset insurance platform where the user connects a wallet (Connect Wallet) and creates a policy; assigns participants (validators/trustees) and decision rules; specifies which assets are protected and a backup wallet; and maintains regular subscription payments (so the policy stays active). At the core is DAO logic: recovery actions are launched through voting, where the decision is made by a set quorum and vote threshold; a HOLD (execution delay) before payout is possible.

Work with the client

*Important: this is not project work — it is work with the client specifically, and it is not in the estimate or commercial proposal. This is what we do to increase the probability of product success.A primer on tokenomics and product economic sustainabilityWe did not just program smart contracts — we taught the client to see through the economy of their blockchain project. Across a series of strategy sessions we broke down how the token would hold value, where inflation risks form, and why a “beautiful model” on paper often fails the first market correction. Using real cases, we explained how to build treasury management, which metrics to monitor after TGE, and when to change holder incentives so the ecosystem does not enter a “death spiral.” Defence.investments’ director personally spent hours working through the owner’s doubts about the product economy — until the client began defending the model to investors with solid arguments. Our goal is not just development — it is our client’s success.

Design goals:

SHOW CONTROL AND TRANSPARENCY: WHO CONFIRMS RECOVERY, WHAT THE CONDITIONS ARE, WHEN HOLD TRIGGERS, AND WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
CAREFULLY PACKAGE COMPLEX LOGIC INTO A SIMPLE INTERFACE SO THE PRODUCT IS CLEAR NOT ONLY TO A WEB3 AUDIENCE
SHOW SUBSCRIPTION VALUE AND LIMITS SO THE PAYMENT DECISION IS MADE CONSCIOUSLY, WITH AN UNDERSTANDING OF THE BENEFIT

Design results:

HELP-ORIENTED: THE DESIGN COMMUNICATES THAT THE SERVICE HELPS RESTORE ACCESS TO ASSETS, EMPHASIZING CLIENT SUPPORT
TRUST THROUGH TRANSPARENCY: CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS AND REVIEWS SHOW HOW TO SAFELY RECOVER FUNDS, STRENGTHENING USER CONFIDENCE
SIMPLE USER PATH: THE INTERFACE IS OPTIMIZED TO EXPLAIN THE PROCESS STEP BY STEP WITHOUT TECHNICAL JARGON, SO BUSINESS OWNERS CAN EASILY RESTORE ACCESS
